Mark is one of the top adventure paddlers in the world and is the only person to have completed source-to-sea navigation of 3 of the longest rivers in the world (Amazon, Mississippi/Missouri, Volga), along with this he has also walked across the entire country of Iran.

In light of these fantastic achievements, he is a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society and was introduced by Sir Micheal Palin for several of his talks.

As an inspirational, experienced public speaker, Mark has been asked to speak at The Royal Geographical Society, TEDx (Click to watch Mark’s Talk) and several other private functions about how he copes with sitting in a kayak for months on end in a fascinating countries meeting unique people on the way along with touching upon environmental and cultural topics around the world.

in 2014, Mark was ranked as one of the Top 50 Adventurers in the World by Men’s Journal and in 2013 & 2015 he was nominated for “Spirit of Adventure” at the Canoe and Kayak Awards
